NOLA Public Schools and NSNO Launch Data Dashboard and School Sustainability Analysis to Support Decision-Making and Long-Term Planning
(New Orleans – February 21, 2025) – NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) and New Schools for New Orleans (NSNO) are proud to announce the launch of two critical data tools: the NOLA-PS Data Dashboard and the NSNO School Sustainability Analysis. These tools, developed collaboratively, provide key insights into school enrollment trends, financial sustainability, academic outcomes, and more, in order to inform school- and system-wide planning aimed at ensuring all students have access to high-quality education.
Introducing the NOLA-PS Data Dashboard
The NOLA-PS Data Dashboard is a new, publicly available tool designed to provide reliable, relevant, and accessible data on the city's public schools. Developed in partnership with NSNO, the dashboard supports NOLA-PS' Five-Year Portfolio Plan, which focuses on improving access to high-quality schools that meet the diverse needs of families.
The dashboard offers insights into:
- Academic outcomes, including student subgroup performance.
- Enrollment patterns, including shifting demographics and school capacity.
- Teacher retention trends, to help address workforce sustainability.
Designed for district leaders, school administrators, and system partners, the dashboard serves as a centralized hub for critical data, ensuring transparency and supporting data-driven decision-making. The dashboard can be found at https://data.nolapublicschools.com/.
Understanding the School Sustainability Analysis
The NSNO School Sustainability Analysis, formerly known as the Enrollment Landscape Analysis, examines the impact of changing enrollment patterns on the citywide portfolio of schools. Since 2021, NSNO and NOLA-PS have worked together to analyze enrollment trends and their effects on school operations, facilities, and financial health.
This analysis provides vital data to help NOLA-PS and charter school leaders make informed decisions about resource allocation, school facilities, and system-wide planning to sustain academic progress despite shifting student demographics. The analysis can be found on https://newschoolsforneworleans.org/nsno-enrollment-landscape-analysis/.
A Commitment to Sustaining Progress
Over the past several years, New Orleans' schools have made significant academic gains. To continue this progress, it is essential that district and school leaders use data to inform decisions on sustainability, equity, and student success. The launch of the Data Dashboard and School Sustainability Analysis represents a major step toward ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that every student has access to a high-quality education.
"The NOLA-PS Data Dashboard and NSNO School Sustainability Analysis are vital tools for data-driven decisions, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in our schools," said NOLA-PS Interim Superintendent Dr. Fateama Fulmore. "They empower us to effectively monitor our 5-Year Portfolio Plan and keep student needs first as we build a sustainable future for New Orleans' public education."
"At NSNO, we believe that strong, transparent data is essential to building a sustainable and equitable school system for our young people," said Dana Peterson, CEO of NSNO. "The NOLA-PS Data Dashboard and School Sustainability Analysis will equip school and system leaders and decision-makers with the insights they need to make informed decisions that prioritize student success. We are proud to partner with NOLA Public Schools on these critical tools, ensuring that every child in New Orleans has access to a high-quality education now and in the future."
Both tools are now available to the public and can be accessed at the addresses provided above. Both tools can also be found on the new Data Tools page on the NOLA Public Schools website at https://nolapublicschools.com/community/datatools and on the NSNO website at www.nsno.org.
