Advisory Councils

Advisory Councils offer the Superintendent and District at-large the opportunity to tap into the community at a grassroots level.  Through the various councils, the district will disseminate vital information to be shared throughout the community, provide a space for firsthand information sharing, and serve as critical advisors on key district initiatives.  These relationships will provide the Superintendent and District valuable perspective into the NOLA-PS experience and serve as champions of the district within the community and their networks.

Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council is the district’s central mechanism for ensuring that parents are well informed about NOLA-PS related matters and that they have the opportunity to help develop District-level programming and policy. They meet with the superintendent and other district staff quarterly during the school year to discuss a variety of topics, share information and broaden understanding of school-related issues. Teacher Advisory Council

Teacher Advisory Council creates a critical bridge between Central Office and NOLA Public Schools teachers. The Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council is designed to improve the educational landscape of NOLA Public Schools by providing the Superintendent and administration with direct input from NOLA Public School classrooms.  The TAC is composed of teacher ambassadors from grades K-12 serving as the voice of their respective grade levels.  This dedicated group of educators works directly with the administration and Superintendent in monthly meetings to serve as advisors, provide input to make key decisions, share challenges and successes experienced with the implementation of initiatives and programs, learn about district initiatives first-hand and more.
