Dear NOLA-PS Community Members,

Dear Community Members,

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time for us to honor the survivors, remember those we have lost, and amplify our support for those searching for a cure. I urge you to take a moment to reflect on the women in our lives including our mothers, aunts, sisters and daughters are in your life, and let’s come together to bring an end to this disease.

October is also a time to reflect on the importance of educators in our lives. As the weather begins to cool and our school community is in the full rhythm of learning, we choose this time to honor our educators and administrators who pour so much of themselves into raising up our students. This month is National Principals Month, and it hosts National Custodian Day (Oct. 2), World Teachers Day (Oct. 5), National Coaches Day (Oct. 6), National Mentoring Day (Oct. 27) and so many other moments where we recognize those individuals who make our schools great places for children to learn and grow.
