NOLA Public Schools and Central Office Will Close Tuesday Due to Winter Weather
Update following City of New Orleans Weather Activation Plan
(New Orleans – January 17, 2025) —In response to the anticipated severe winter weather, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) and its Central Office (2401 Westbend Parkway, New Orleans, LA 70114) will be closed on Tuesday, January 21st. This decision aligns with the City of New Orleans recommendations to close its offices due to a predicted hard freeze from Monday evening through Tuesday morning.
NOLA-PS will communicate any updates via its website, social media, and the local news media. Schools will communicate directly with families regarding further details and updates.
The City is urging residents to avoid travel during this period. NOLA-PS, in coordination with city officials, will continue to monitor weather conditions closely. Decisions about school operations for Wednesday, January 22nd, will be made and communicated by Tuesday afternoon. The community is encouraged to stay informed through local news, NOLA Public Schools' social media, and direct communications from individual schools.
