OPSB Postpones Board Business Meeting Due to CCC Police Investigation
(New Orleans – February 22, 2024) — In light of the tragic shooting incident that occurred on the Crescent City Connection (CCC) bridge earlier this afternoon, resulting in the closure of the bridge, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) has made the decision to postpone today's regularly scheduled Board Business Meeting. The new date for the meeting is set for Monday, February 26, at 5:30 pm.
This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of our community members who attend our board meetings, as well as the safety of our school board members.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., a fatal shooting on the westbound lanes of the CCC disrupted traffic, leading to its closure. The incident prompted an immediate homicide investigation by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), causing extensive traffic delays and raising concerns over public safety.
