NOLA Public Schools Announces Late Enrollment Plan and Releases Early Childhood and Round 2 OneApp Results

NEW ORLEANS – (June 12, 2020) – Today, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) released the OneApp placement results for families participating in Round 2 and Early Childhood rounds for the 2020-2021 school year. Families can log-in and review those placement results by visiting: http://oneapp.force.com.

The OneApp is the centralized school enrollment application process for Orleans Parish public schools. OneApp provides students and families with the opportunity to apply to schools citywide, based on their child’s unique needs and interests.

This year, NOLA-PS will launch its first-ever virtual late enrollment process to improve the family experience and to protect the health and wellbeing of our community. Families who are new to the parish and still need a school, or still wish to transfer schools, are invited to participate in Virtual Late Enrollment. In the past, families would need to visit a physical location with their documents and dedicate time at the location to receive a placement.

Beginning Monday, June 15, 2020, families will be able to visit our web page about applying for next year (https://enrollnola.org/apply-for-next-year/ ) to access an online submission and sign up form. The district will collect documentation online so that a placement can be made over the phone. Most families will only need to supply a photo ID for the parent/guardian, and proof of residency; however, new students will need to also upload their birth certificate, proof of residence and report card/grades from the 2019-2020 school year. As in past years, the first weeks of late enrollment will serve families with students in grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Families seeking placements for early childhood students should also submit the online form which will allow us to contact them with more information about Open Enrollment for available Early Childhood Seats, which will begin in the coming weeks.

The initial sign up will occur from Monday, June 15 until Monday, June 22. The District will begin calling families who submit timely forms in a randomized order beginning Wednesday, June 24 and will continue making calls until all families are placed. Families who experience technological barriers are encouraged to call 1-877-343-4773 and leave a message.

“In light of COVID-19, our team has developed a new system for late enrollment, which is typically done in-person with over fifty staff and hundreds of families convening in one space. This new system eliminates that and will allow us to serve families in an efficient manner and ensure their safety. We are encouraged by this new technology and look forward to helping families who may still need a placement.” said NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr.

Families may access their application results by logging into their OneApp Parent Portal account at oneapp.force.com. If families need help accessing their OneApp results, or who need support with submitting their documents online may call the Family Resource Center (FRC) at: 877-343-4773, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible or email us at oneapp@nolapublicschools.com

Instructions for participating in the NOLA-PS Virtual Late Enrollment are available here.
