NOLA-PS Launches Community Survey for New Superintendent Search
(New Orleans – January 27, 2025) — The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) has officially launched its search for a new superintendent, emphasizing a community-driven approach. Central to this initiative is an online survey aimed at gathering input from students, parents, educators, and the broader New Orleans community to help define the profile of the next educational leader.
The survey, accessible via: nolapublicschools.com/suptsearch, invites participants to express what qualities and experiences they deem essential for the new superintendent. This step underscores OPSB's commitment to community engagement in the leadership selection process.
"Finding the right leader is not just about choosing a superintendent but about securing the future of education for the children of New Orleans," said OPSB President Katie Baudouin. "We're committed to ensuring this process reflects the values and priorities of our community."
In addition to the survey, a public hearing will be held to further incorporate community feedback on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 5:30 PM at McDonogh 35 High School, 4000 Cadillac Street, New Orleans, LA 70122.
On Thursday, the OPSB will host a Board work session to develop the job announcement and search plan for a new superintendent.
This meeting will provide an invaluable opportunity for residents to voice their vision for the future of public education leadership in New Orleans.
