NOLA-PS Approves New Harmony High School’s Siting to Dr. Charles Drew Elementary School Site

(New Orleans – April 28, 2025) — NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) is pleased to announce the approval of New Harmony High School's siting or relocation from its current location at the Holy Rosary campus to the Dr. Charles Richard Drew Elementary School site at 3819 St. Claude Avenue, a school board-operated facility, effective for the 2025-26 school year. This transition follows the planned siting of Morris Jeff Community School's middle school program from the Dr. Charles Drew campus at the conclusion of the current school year.

To optimize resources, Morris Jeff Community School will consolidate its middle school program by splitting its operations between two locations. The Fisk-Howard building will house elementary school students, while the William Frantz building will accommodate seventh, eighth, and high school students.

Following a thorough review of New Harmony High School's submission as part of the open siting process, Superintendent Dr. Fateama Fulmore has confirmed that the school's objectives align with the goals of NOLA-PS. This decision marks an exciting step forward in supporting quality education and community growth in New Orleans.

The district is excited to welcome New Harmony High School to the Dr. Charles Drew Elementary School site. NOLA-PS is committed to working closely with New Harmony's leadership to ensure a seamless transition and continued success for their students and families.

NOLA Public Schools looks forward to collaborating with New Harmony High School throughout the coming year to facilitate a smooth siting process.
