WHAT:

With the majority of NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) back in session, Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. and Principal Dominique Zenon will welcome Lafayette Academy Community Middle School students in grades 6 – 8th to campus. They will highlight the work being done to keep students and staff safe, as well as the need to care for each other.


Lafayette Academy Community Middle School is part of the Community Academies of New Orleans school network.


THIS IS A DISTRICT SANCTIONED MEDIA AVAILABILITY TO CAPTURE CONTENT OF THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AT AN ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL. THIS IS THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO GATHER THIS CONTENT. FACE COVERINGS MUST BE WORN AND THERE WILL BE DESIGNATED AREAS FOR MEDIA TO STAND.

WHY:

NOLA-PS is excited most students are back in the classroom post Hurricane Ida. In order to continue ensuring the health and safety of our school community and a successful school year, NOLA-PS is encouraging families to have their children tested for COVID-19 regardless of vaccination status, on a weekly basis, as well as get vaccinated if eligible. All these measures will help protect the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff.
