NOLA-PS Launches its Spring 2021 Requests for Applications to Open a School

(New Orleans – February 1, 2021) —NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) has released the full application of its Spring 2021 Charter Request for Applications (RFA) annual process. The District welcomes new and existing entities willing to strive to meet NOLA-PS' vision to ensure all students receive a high-quality education.

The charter school application process seeks proposals from highly qualified applicants to open new Type 1 charter schools and transform existing district-run schools into Type 3 charter schools in order to be a conduit to meeting the goals set forth by the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB). The District welcomes applications from new and experienced operators to open a school beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

Any organization or individual that is interested in applying for the Spring 2021 cycle must submit a letter of intent and eligibility documentation by 12:00pm CST on Friday, February 12th, 2021. For eligible applicants, the full application is due Monday, April 5th. After a thorough review process, the NOLA-PS superintendent will make recommendations to the OPSB, during its June board meeting about which organizations should be approved to open a school for the 2022-23 school year.
