(New Orleans – January 21, 2025) —In response to the latest winter weather forecast and anticipated hazardous travel conditions, all NOLA Public Schools (Charters and The Leah Chase School) will remain closed on Wed., January 22 and Thurs., Jan 23. Schools will use Thursday to assess the readiness of our buildings' heating systems and pipes as well as work with transportation providers on bus readiness.
All District offices will operate remotely on Wednesday and Thursday to ensure continued support for families. This decision prioritizes the safety of the NOLA-PS community while maintaining essential operations. NOLA-PS will continue to communicate any updates via its website, social media, and the local news media. Schools will communicate directly with families regarding further details and updates.
NOLA-PS will also continue to monitor weather conditions closely, working with city officials.
To all families still seeking to complete the New Orleans Common Application Process (NCAP) for enrollment, the deadline has been extended to Wed., Jan. 29 to provide additional time. On Wed., Jan 22 and Thurs., Jan 23, NOLA-PS will provide virtual enrollment support to families from 8:00AM - Noon and from 1 PM - 4PM.
