NOLA-PS Launches Major 2022-2025 Strategic Planning Effort

District is seeking public input to help set priorities

(New Orleans – March 31, 2021) – NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) is launching a major strategic planning initiative to set the course for the District for the next four years. The goal is to capitalize on the lessons learned since reunification of schools three years ago and through our successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Now is the time to channel this knowledge gained by our unique community of schools, as we came together this past year to keep our staff, teachers, and students safe," said NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. "And now is the time to plan for the future, to grow a district that continues to care for all its students, no matter who they are or where they come from."

As a community of schools that values inclusivity, trust, respect, cultural awareness, and collective progress, this planning process will be transparent and fully engaged with our schools, staff, students, and families to understand their needs and aspirations for public education in New Orleans.

In that spirit, we are asking for public input to help guide our work. Please visit nolapublicschools.com/nola-ps-strategic-planning to learn more, share your ideas, sign up for a focus group, or ask questions.

Superintendent Lewis and his team will incorporate public input and propose a 4-year strategic plan later this summer to the Orleans Parish School Board for review. We expect to complete this process before the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
