BROADCASTING AND TAPING OF SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS

The Orleans Parish School Board desires to facilitate public access to School Board meetings, to encourage public involvement, and to further improve transparency as it relates to School Board operations.  To ensure such public access, all School Board business meetings shall be broadcasted live on the City of New Orleans education access channel and at the School Board website.  The unedited monthly School Board business meeting broadcasts shall be available for public viewing "on demand" at its official website.  DVD copies of all such broadcasts shall be maintained in the School Board Office and in the School Board Media Studio.

The Orleans Parish School Board recognizes the rights of the public and members of the news media to record a public meeting.  In order to help ensure proper decorum and protect the integrity of any meeting of the School Board, the Superintendent and/or his/her designee shall maintain appropriate administrative regulations and procedures governing the taping of School Board meetings.  The School Board reserves the right to alter, change, or determine on a case-by-case basis for each meeting any additional regulations or procedures to assure proper decorum and protect the integrity of meetings of the School Board.
