TERM OF OFFICE

Beginning with those members taking office in 1989, all members of the Orleans Parish School Board shall serve for four-year concurrent terms.  School Board members shall be elected at the same time as members of the United States Congress are elected to office.

The term of each member shall begin on January 1, following his/her election and expire on December 31, four (4) years later.  Effective January 1, 2014, School Board members shall be limited to three (3) consecutive four-year terms.
