1.1 Call to Order – Roll Call

The Orleans Parish School Board Special Board Business Meeting was called to order at 7:56am on March 10, 2022, by Board President Olin Parker. The following board members were present: Olin G. Parker, Dr. Jancarlos (J.C.) Wagner Romero, Ethan Ashley, Katherine Baudouin, Nolan Marshall, Jr., and Carlos Luis Zervigon. Assistant Superintendent Mary K. Garton and Board Counsel Ashley Heilprin were also present. John A. Brown, Sr. was absent.

-Interpretation services were acknowledged.

1.2 Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Parker.

1.3 Adoption of the Agenda

Motion to adopt the board meeting agenda as provided.

Motion by Mr. Marshall second by Mr. Ashley

Board Comment:

·         Clarification related to recessing at 6:00pm on March 10, 2022, until 8:00am on March 11, 2022, was provided.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Motion by Mr. Ashley, second by Ms. Baudouin to move to executive session at 7:58am on March 10, 2022.

Reconvened from Executive Session at 5:09pm on March 11, 2022. The following board members were present: Olin G. Parker, Dr. Jancarlos (J.C.) Wagner Romero, Ethan Ashley, Katherine Baudouin, Nolan Marshall, Jr., and Carlos Luis Zervigon. Assistant Superintendent Mary K. Garton and Board Counsel Ashley Heilprin were also present. John A. Brown, Sr. was absent.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

2.1 Discussion of the character, the professional competence, physical or mental health of a person - Interviews of Candidates for Orleans Parish School Board Superintendent.

Board Counsel reported on matters held in executive session.

ACTION ITEMS

3.1 Orleans Parish School Board Extends an Invitation to Candidates to Move to the Next Phase of the Superintendent Search Process

Recommended Action: It is recommended that the Orleans Parish School Board extends an invitation to one or more superintendency candidates to move to the next phase of the search.
