1.1 Call to Order – Roll Call

The Orleans Parish School Board Anti-Bias Training was called to order at 9:09 am by Board President Ethan Ashley. The following board members were present: Ethan Ashley, Katherine Baudouin, Nolan Marshall, Jr., Olin G. Parker, and Carlos Luis Zervigon. Board Counsel Ashley Heilprin was also present. John A. Brown, Sr. arrived at 9:19 am and Dr. Jancarlos (J.C.) Wagner Romero was absent.

-Interpretation services were acknowledged.

1.2 Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Ashley. 

1.3 Adoption of the Agenda

Motion to adopt the board meeting agenda as provided. Motion by Ms. Baudouin second by Mr. Zervigon

·        Yeas: Mr. Ashley, Mr. Marshall, Ms. Baudouin, Mr. Parker, Mr. Zervigon

·        Nays: None

·        Absent: Mr. Brown, Dr. Wagner Romero

·        Abstain: None

AGENDA

2.1 OPSB TRAINING SESSION

·      Beloved Community led the board in an Anti-Bias Training: Debiasing Selection and Hiring Processes.

·      Robust discussion was held around connecting values to talent practices, de-biasing selection and hiring processes, and inclusive talent practices.  Additionally, a warm-up activity was held, resources and closing reflections were shared.

Motion by Mr. Marshall, second by Mr. Parker to adjourn the meeting.
