1. OPENING OF MEETING

The Orleans Parish School Board Special Business Meeting was called to order by Board President, Mr. John Brown, Sr. at 10:22 AM with the following Board members present:  Mr.Brown, Ms. Ellison, Mr. Kleban, Mr. Koppel, Mr. Marshall, Ms. Newell Usdin, Mr. Ashley was absent.  Also present, Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr., Superintendent and Ms. Sharonda Williams.

Action: 1.03 Adoption of Agenda

Motion to adopt the Special Board meeting agenda as presented.

Motion by Sarah Newell Usdin, second by Woody Koppel

2. INFORMATION

Information: 2.01 Board Work Session 

Superintendent Lewis opened the worksession by introduce the guest presenter Mr. Chris Librizzi.  Presentations were present and the Board spoke in depth the Cowen Annual Education Poll, recap of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee, the OPSB Community Survey Feedback, and the initial OPSB perspectives on implications for vision, mission, and strategic goals.

3. ACTION ITEMS

Action: 3.01 Resolution 31-17 Calling a Special Election re: Millage Renewal Propositions

That the Orleans Parish School Board adopts Resolution 31-17 ordering and calling a special election to be held in the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, to authorize the levy of special taxes therein, making application to the State Bond Commission in connection therewith and providing for other matters in connection therewith.
